No, Really?

Yes, if it hadn't occured to you yet... we are a gay couple... there, it's right out there in the open for everyone to see! Let's be up front about this; some people will not care, some will. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, it is a free country after all. That being said, let's clear up a few things

• Our sexuality is an ASPECT of who we are, not a definition
• We don't know your cousin, just because he's gay
• No, we've never met Celine Dion, but we did see her show!
• Yes, we do have straight friends
• No, we won't go dancing with you and your girlfriends... well, maybe...

We enjoy a whole lot of different things, some that fit the stereotype and some that might suprise you. We enjoy hanging out with the Bear groups, but if we have to choose between standing around in a bar and staying home and reading a book, the book will always win.

Now, let's be honest... there's something about some of the gay/lesbian groups that is just wrong... Ladies and gentlemen, we're grownups now! Why do we constantly come across behavior that is better left in high school?
"OH, you can be my friend, but not if you like her!"
"What did I do wrong that made you mad? It must be your fault..."
"You question me? I must never speak to you again!"
"So and So said you were not on the A-list..."
Seriously people... and A-list? Do we really have to deal with this? We like to believe that if we have a friend, they can tell us when we're out of line, and we will return the favor, without the drama of a bunch of 17 year old Heathers...

Keep an open mind to whatever life may present to you. It would be a shame to miss out on what can be a great experience by letting one aspect dictate your conception of people. We're always open to frank, respectful communication...
